In the spring of 2008, a group of aspiring engineers made the commitment to make a difference in the world in a new way. The idea rapidly grew, soon encompassing members from numerous departments: mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, and computer engineering.
EWB was founded in order to allow students to apply their technical skills to benefit developing communities around the world.

Our Advisors
George Vradis, Ph.D. Chair of Department of Mechanical Engineering
“When Professor Varadis heard about EWB-Poly, he immediately went online to give the chapter’s first personal donation. Since then Professor Vradis has been following up on the progress of the chapter and ready to help always.”
Rastislav Levicky, Ph.D Donald F. Othmer Assistant Professor
“Professor Levicky is one of those few tireless individuals any chapter wishes to have on their team. He motivates students to push forward ,aim high, and prepare for everything.”
Ilan Juran, Ph.D. Executive Director, Urban Infrastructure Institute
“Professor Juran spearheaded EWB’s existence. He brought together the students who form the chapter, and provides knowledge to guide them. He continues to motivate our leadership to think big.”
Nina Weber, Director of Career Services, attends meetings frequently to provide guidance and advice. She has been invaluable in helping EWB develop smart fund-raising ideas.
Mr. Michael Gendel, Director of the Office of International Students, helped the chapter develop a vision from its very inception. He constantly motivates the leadership team to think positive and work hard.
